Description
We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Tax Manager in Burlington, Massachusetts. As a Tax Manager, you will play a crucial role in managing and assisting with tax provisions. This role primarily focuses on domestic tax calculations, maintaining tax computations, and overseeing the U.S. compliance process. You will also interact with key members of the Corporate Office and domestic controllers.
Responsibilities:
• Assist with the preparation and review of the year-end and quarterly tax provisions, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
• Handle computations and/or review of book-to-tax differences and state calculations.
• Maintain and update tax account reconciliations and data entry into relevant tax provision software.
• Prepare tax disclosures for annual and quarterly reports.
• Handle the tax impact of stock-based compensation and uncertain tax positions, and apply the impact of purchase accounting.
• Oversee the U.S. compliance process, ensuring filing deadlines are met and data is provided accurately and timely to the outside service provider for preparation of tax forms.
• Conduct high-level review of federal and state tax returns/proformas and detailed review of tax extensions and quarterly estimated tax payments.
• Oversee tax information requests and responses, and manage the tax calendar.
• Research federal and state tax issues and ensure timely responses to tax notices.
• Provide tax assistance to key members of the Corporate Office and domestic controllers when needed.
Requirements • Proficiency in accounting software, particularly CCH ProSystem Fx and CCH Sales Tax.
• Demonstrated ability to handle all accounting functions.
• Experience in preparing annual income tax provision.
• Strong background in auditing and compliance.
• Knowledge of entity formation practices in a corporate setting.
• Proficient in ASC 740 (Income Taxes) accounting standard.
• Experience in Corporate Tax Compliance.
• Expertise in managing income tax provision.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Enrolled Agent (EA) status is preferred.
• Proven experience in a similar role, preferably as a Tax Manager.
• Ability to work independently and within a team.
• High level of integrity and professionalism.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
