Job Description My client is seeking an experienced Tax Manager to oversee and manage all tax matters for their operations in the UK and Europe. This dynamic role ensures compliance with current tax legislation while providing strategic guidance on emerging tax issues.
Location: South Coast - UK
Reports To: Head of Accounting & Reporting
Key Responsibilities:
Manage corporation tax, VAT, customs, excise duties, and other indirect taxes, ensuring compliance with UK and EU regulations. Review and maintain agreements with tax authorities, ensuring they reflect current business activities. Support the Accounting Officers process, maintaining accurate documentation and tax risk registers. Manage relationships with tax advisors, ensuring efficient use of resources and value for money. Monitor tax compliance processes and ensure readiness for audits. Provide insights on emerging tax issues, including environmental and fuel-related taxes, and their impact on operations. Act as the primary contact for tax compliance matters with relevant tax authorities and internal stakeholders. Offer support for business decisions affecting tax compliance, transactions, and restructuring. Qualifications and Experience:
Significant experience in a senior tax role within a large, complex international organisation. Proven expertise in engaging with tax authorities. Familiarity with a range of UK and EU taxes; experience with shipping is essential. Strong track record in managing external tax advisers effectively. Professional qualification (ACA, CTA, or equivalent) and a relevant degree. (QBE can be considered but must cover all other elements to be eligible.) Why Apply?
