The Federal Tax Manager works closely with the Domestic Income Tax Manager in all aspects of federal income tax. The Federal Manager will review all quarterly provision assignments completed by Tax Accountants, lead the preparation and review of the US Federal Form 1120 and all required forms, and assist with US Federal tax controversy. Key Responsibilities • Manage federal income tax provision utilizing the OneSource software • Properly report quarterly provisions and other deliverables • Manage federal tax compliance process • Reconcile income tax accounts on a quarterly basis • Able to explain fluctuations in book-tax differences • Prepare responses to tax notices and taxing authority inquiries • Manage US federal income tax controversy • Review prepared 10-K income tax footnote disclosures • Monitor tax legislation developments and advise on impacts and opportunities • Assist in implementation of tax planning strategies to reduce cash tax rate as well as effective tax rate Education and/or Experience • Master’s degree (MA, MS, MBA) or equivalent preferred • Professional tax experience with national accounting firms or equivalent corporate tax departments required • 6+ years of corporate income tax experience required • Strong basic management, human relations, and communication skills required • CPA preferred • Experience with OneSource preferred Benefits at AutoZone AutoZone cares about people.
