This position is Hybrid to Pearl River, NY

 

The Tax Manager is responsible for all aspects of tax-related work for the organization.  This will include tax filings (US), tax-related accounting and GAAP reporting, tax planning, consulting and review of international tax accounting as well as working with senior management on strategic initiatives.      

Responsibilities

Specific responsibilities:

Prepare and file federal, state, and local income and franchise tax returns.Prepare and file sales and use tax returns.Prepare and issue resale certificates and exemptions certificates to vendors for sales taxes.Prepare tax provisions schedules, reports and maintain company’s tax database.Accurately prepare quarterly and annual tax reports.Prepare and make all income tax and franchise tax payments and deposits.File Form 1042, Annual Withholding Tax Return for U.S. Source Income of Foreign Persons.File state annual reports by legal entity.Provide tax accounting and journal entries to the accounting department.Act as primary contact with the Company’s outside auditors to provide documentation about the Company’s annual GAAP tax provision and all matters related to the audit.

 

Advisory responsibilities:

Find tax solutions to complicated tax issues or errors from incorrect tax filings.Identify legal tax savings and recommend ways to improve profits.Advise management about the impact of tax liabilities and corporate strategies on new tax laws.Keep up to date with tax changes and industry trends.Advise on payroll and fringe benefits tax issues.Provide support for the annual budget and reforecast processes as it relates to taxes. Advise on foreign value added tax issues. Identify tax risks.Understand, utilize and manage Actives tax software. Including making recommendations on changing software, if necessary.  Prepare tax liability estimates throughout the year. Oversee tax assets when need arises. Advise on tax matters related to acquisition and divestiture activity.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:  This role does not have supervisory responsibilities at the current time.

The salary range for this position is $115,000 - $135,000. The successful candidate’s salary will depend on the actual ranges of current employees in the subject position, market considerations, budgetary considerations, geography, as well as the candidate’s skill set, level of experience, and qualifications. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Accounting. Certified Public Accountant/Chartered Accountant desirable.MBA desirable. Must have a minimum of 5 years+ of experience in a corporate tax capacity. Must be proficient with PeopleSoft or similar accounting software as well as Microsoft Excel and Word.

Travel

 

This position does not require significant travel, although some travel, up to 10%, may be required for professional development, etc.
