Tax Manager - Korea (Temporary)

 

What this role is about? 

 

This temporary position exists to manage all tax matters including direct tax, TP, and Indirect tax of JTI Korea Inc. To support tax angles of business models set up, sourcing changes, new business flows and conversions. 

 

What you will do? 

 

Review and supervise various local Tax Compliances (Excise Tax, Value-Added Tax, Withholding Tax, Corporate Income Tax, Local Corporate Income Tax, Transfer Pricing, etc). Review the contracts of Entity and provide the tax advice to the business to reduce the potential tax exposure. Monitor the tax legislation changes, analyze business impacts, and advise to Global Tax and Entity Finance, and other local functions. Lead implementation of tax strategy, policies and procedures (including JSOX controls), tax risk analysis. Mitigate tax risks and see opportunities to improve tax efficiency.   Handle tax angles of business models set up, sourcing changes, new business flows and conversions. Communicate and coordinate with the partners e.g. Finance, Legal, CA&C.  Supervise tax & customs audit and tax litigation with the support of partners. Connect with tax/customs authorities and tax advisor as the point of contact.  Support people management and training for Entity Finance team to ensure the good work collaboration. Tax advice to the Entity level projects. When requested, assist Cluster Tax Director in tax projects relating to other cluster markets in Asia Pacific. Direct report to Cluster Tax Director (verticalized reporting in English language).

 

Who we are looking for? 

 

A degree in Tax, Finance, or Accounting is required. LLM or MBA is a plus.

At least 5 years of solid exposure to corporate tax, transfer pricing or indirect tax.

Certified (Chartered) Accountant or Certified (Chartered) Tax or equivalent is a plus.

A combination of working experience in the Big 4, as well as in-house is highly preferred.

Good communication skill and interpersonal skills.

Proactivity in addressing issues.

People management, leadership and influencing skills.

Proven project management and analytical skills.

One team mindset and willingness to learn.

Ability to adapt to dynamic market environments.

Strong MS Office skills.
