Our client is a wealth management firm in Houston is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Tax Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in individual and family tax returns, as well as expertise in Roth conversions. This role is perfect for a Tax Senior ready to take the next step in their career or an existing Tax Manager looking for a new challenge.
Tax Manager Responsibilities:
Tax Planning and Compliance:
+ Review individual and family tax returns ensuring accuracy and compliance with federal and state tax laws.
+ Conduct Roth conversion analysis and implement strategies for clients.
+ Advise clients on tax planning strategies to minimize tax liabilities and maximize financial outcomes.
+ Stay updated on changes in tax regulations and ensure compliance across all client accounts.
Client Relationship Management:
+ Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, providing exceptional service and support.
+ Conduct regular meetings with clients to discuss tax strategies, financial goals, and investment opportunities.
+ Respond to client inquiries and provide timely and accurate tax-related information.
Team Leadership and Development:
+ Lead and mentor a team of tax professionals, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality work and professional growth.
+ Review and supervise the work of junior staff, ensuring accuracy and adherence to company standards.
+ Assist in the recruitment and training of new team members.
Process Improvement:
+ Identify opportunities to improve tax processes and procedures, enhancing efficiency and accuracy.
+ Implement best practices for tax preparation, review, and filing.
+ Collaborate with other departments to ensure a seamless and integrated client experience.
Requirements
Tax Manager Requirements:
+ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
+ CPA or EA required
+ Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in tax preparation and planning, with a focus on individual and family returns.
+ Demonstrated experience with Roth conversions.
+ Strong understanding of federal and state tax laws and regulations.
+ Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
+ Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain client relationships.
+ Proven leadership abilities and experience managing a team.
+ Proficiency in tax software and Microsoft Office Suite.
