Position Specific Description
The Tax Operations team is responsible for providing effective, timely and actionable financial information to ensure NextEra Energy Resources is meeting its short-term and long-term objectives. With a primary focus on renewable energy, this organization performs key financial functions for our electric generating facilities and associated financings. These functions include internal and external reporting and forecasting, business analytics and certain aspects of the monthly close process.
As a summer intern, you will have the opportunity to work on projects that drive our organization forward. Projects generally relate to preparation of income tax provisions under ASC740 to be included in the applicable SEC filings (notably Forms 10-K and 10-Q), preparation of federal and state income tax returns, tax basis balance sheet calculations and account reconciliations under ASC740. You will also partner with the Federal/State planning teams to ensure M&A transactions are accurately recorded in the provision and accurately reported on the income tax returns, focus on special projects including system maintenance and/or development, leverage technology to create effective financial models & calculations supporting tax returns and provisions, and identify process improvements through use of technology and innovation.
