CATEGORY/FUNCTION INTRODUCTION
Tax team in Unilever is responsible for collection, analysis of tax and finance data and performing / supporting tax compliance, tax reporting and tax audit, in the areas related to direct tax, indirect tax, withholding tax and transfer pricing. The team is also responsible for monitoring the tax control framework and co-development of tax related technology infrastructure along with IT team and maintaining Global Process Model (GPM) and exceptions resolution for tax related issues

WHAT WILL YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES BE
Analyse tax data, check accuracy and trends and spot discrepancies
Prepare tax data for (VAT, CIT, WHT, TP, statistical reports, and internal tax reporting) in accordance with Unilever tax control framework and under supervision of senior specialist
Support preparation of Corporate Income Tax packs of various countries across Europe
Support preparation monthly/quarterly calculation of VAT and preparation of VAT returns in a timely and accurate manner for various countries across Europe
Ensure tax related payments to government / tax authorities are executed as per the timelines in respective countries
Closely work with Unilever global tax team, country tax team & Outsourced Service Provider (Big 4) on ongoing tax compliance for European Unilever companies and regarding latest changes/amendments in various tax laws affecting Europe
Identify process efficiencies and automation opportunities together with line manager and dedicated process excellence specialist
Provide assistance during tax audits and litigation by providing relevant information to country tax teams in a timely manner
Manage Tax data with focus on hygiene of desktop procedure, master data and transactional data
Ensure archiving of relevant tax documents
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
Experiences & Qualifications
Bachelor or master’s degree in area of finance (Accountancy or Economics) or law (Taxes) in progress or graduated
Interest in professional grow and work in area of direct/ indirect tax
Keen to learn and gain fluency in SAP and other tools supporting tax processes
Orientation for details and analyses big set of data
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel with key focus of data processing and analysis
Skills
Fluency in English is a must
Good in verbal and written communications
Analytical skills
Must be a self-starter with ability to identify areas of risk
