Job Description
Provide 1-1 tax guidance to clients as they prepare and submit personal tax returns through our tax service. Review returns prior to submission, research complex tax scenarios, and offer opinions based on the CRA Tax Code to maximize the client’s tax return. Answer various tax-related questions to ensure accurate and impactful information is provided. Share tax knowledge with your team of tax professionals by being a point of contact for tax questions, clarifications, or complex tax scenarios. Provide confidence-inspiring 1-1 service primarily online using collaboration software, with follow-up email support as required. Assist with Audit Protection tickets as needed and capture and share insights to improve the end-to-end client experience.
ResponsibilitiesProvide 1-1 tax guidance to clients preparing and submitting personal tax returns.Review tax returns prior to submission.Research complex tax scenarios and offer opinions based on the CRA Tax Code.Answer various tax-related questions to ensure accurate information is provided.Share tax knowledge with your team and be a point of contact for tax questions and complex scenarios.Provide online tax services using collaboration software, with follow-up email support as needed.Assist with Audit Protection tickets as needed.Capture and share insights to improve the client experience.Essential Skills3+ years of professional tax preparation experience.Experience preparing 75+ Canadian T1 personal tax returns per tax year for the last 3 years.Experience preparing and reviewing tax returns that include self-employment income, rental income, investments, cryptocurrency, and foreign income (T1135).EFILE experience using software such as CCH, TaxPrep, TaxCycle, and Profile.Deep understanding of Canadian taxes and the ability to explain tax concepts simply.Regularly research tax rules and regulations to provide accurate advice.Technically savvy with experience using collaboration software (Google Meet, Zoom, etc.) and managing a daily schedule of appointments.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience handling RRSP over-contribution reporting is considered an asset.Prior experience with GST/HST returns is considered an asset.Work Environment
This is a remote position, allowing you to work from anywhere in Canada. You will be working standard hours from 9 AM to 5 PM, with some flexibility on start times.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $26.00
