Description We are seeking a detail-oriented Tax Preparer to join our team, responsible for accurately preparing and reviewing individual and business tax returns, ensuring compliance with tax laws, and identifying optimization opportunities. The role involves conducting client interviews, staying updated on tax regulations, and providing expert advice. The Tax Preparer will collaborate with clients, address inquiries, and maintain organized records while upholding confidentiality and ethical standards. A bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field, previous tax preparation experience, and knowledge of tax laws are required, with CPA or EA credentials being a plus. Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills are essential for success in this role. Responsibilities: + Consulting with clients to gather information on financial status and tax liabilities. + Analyzing and reviewing financial documents to identify potential deductions, credits, and liabilities. + Preparing tax returns, both personal and corporate, ensuring accurate reporting and timely filing. + Providing advice to clients regarding tax regulations and potential tax-saving strategies. + Maintaining current knowledge of tax codes, regulations, and procedures. + Ensuring clients' compliance with IRS requirements, and solving issues when they arise. + Utilizing tax preparation software to process data and complete forms. + Advising clients on potential tax implications of financial decisions. Requirements Qualifications: + Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or certified tax preparer designation is highly desirable. + Minimum of 2 years of experience in tax preparation, preferably with a professional accounting or tax preparation firm. + Thorough understanding of state and federal tax laws. + Proficiency in tax preparation software. + Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. + Excellent communication skills and the ability to translate complex financial concepts into understandable terms for clients. + A commitment to integrity and customer service. + Attention to detail, ability to work under deadlines, and multitasking capabilities.
