Description We are seeking a proficient Tax Preparer to join our team based in Sherman, Texas. In this role, you will be responsible for managing various tax-related tasks, ranging from processing individual and corporate tax returns to maintaining accurate tax records. This role offers a contract to permanent employment opportunity that will have major overtime potential ($5-10K/year) as well as bonuses and 100% fully paid healthcare coverage! Responsibilities: • Manage tax preparations for individuals, partnerships, and corporations • Precisely process and proof various tax schedules including C’s, F’s, and E’s • Organize and manually calculate tax data before entering it into the computer system • Ensure accurate records are kept for all tax-related information and transactions • Handle tax-related inquiries and provide excellent customer service • Utilize various tax software (ideally Lacerte) or ideally other similar systems (CCH ProSystem Fx, Drake Tax Software) • Will utilize QuickBooks for tax preparation and bookkeeping tasks • Assist with the preparation of 1099’s and W2’s during January • Prepare partnership returns and S-Corp returns during February • Calculate social security on tax returns as required • Proof and verify all tax documents before final submission. Requirements Requirements: • 2+ years of tax preparation experience • Degreed in accounting • Active TX CPA or at least the goal to obtain CPA in the future • Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems (QuickBooks Online and Desktop) • Expertise in using tax systems, ideally Lacerte • Ability to perform various bookkeeping and accounting functions • Prior experience in Schedules C, F, E (largely personal tax, small business, partnerships) • Understanding of Allowances in tax preparation • Strong Customer Service skills Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
