Description
As a Tax Expert, you'll play a key role in delivering expert tax guidance and preparation services to customers, specifically focusing on business tax returns for Partnerships and S Corporations. This role provides an exciting opportunity to contribute to the growth of our tax services while helping customers navigate the complexities of their business taxes.
Responsibilities:
+ Prepare and manage complex business tax returns for Partnerships (1065) and S Corporations (1120-S).
+ Provide expert tax advice and full-service business return preparation, including filing and signature.
+ Assist customers with inquiries related to product features, software functionality, and tax calculations.
+ File tax extensions for clients as needed.
+ Create positive, high-quality customer interactions that foster trust and confidence.
+ Utilize professional resources and government websites to provide accurate and timely answers to customer queries.
+ Document customer interactions and maintain detailed records.
+ Work towards meeting and exceeding company key performance metrics and goals.
+ Participate in pilot testing, projects, and experience validations to improve customer service and product offerings.
Requirements
Requirements:
+ A minimum of 3 years of recent business tax preparation experience, specifically preparing federal and state tax returns (1065 and/or 1120-S) for at least 20 clients per tax season.
+ At least 2 tax seasons of personal tax preparation experience, preparing a minimum of 30 personal tax returns per year in a tax practice or retail setting.
+ Availability to commit to at least 20 hours per week during the tax season.
+ Bookkeeping experience, including books to tax preparation, is strongly preferred.
+ Experience preparing business tax returns for service industry customers is a plus.
+ Must possess or be able to obtain all related state licenses, certificates, permits, or bonds.
+ Active Preparer Tax Identification Number (PTIN) required.
+ Knowledge of Circular 230 and its implications for tax practice.
+ Strong technological proficiency, with a solid understanding of computer operations and tax software.
+ Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to communicate effectively through video and audio tools.
+ Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
+ Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and research skills, with a determination to resolve customer concerns.
+ Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
