Description About the Opportunity: Robert Half is partnering with a reputable CPA firm located on the northwest side of Indianapolis to recruit a Seasonal Tax Preparer for the upcoming tax season. This is a great opportunity to work with a respected accounting firm that serves individual and business clients with a focus on accuracy, professionalism, and exceptional customer service. Position Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Seasonal Tax Preparer to support our client during the busy tax season. The successful candidate will prepare and review individual and business income tax returns using UltraTax software. This role is an excellent fit for tax professionals looking for temporary, part-time, or full-time work during tax season, with the flexibility to deliver exceptional results in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities: + Prepare federal, state, and local individual income tax returns (Form 1040). + Prepare and review corporate, partnership, and other business income tax returns (Forms 1120, 1120-S, 1065, etc.). + Utilize UltraTax software to input and calculate tax-related figures with precision while ensuring compliance with current tax regulations and guidelines. + Communicate with clients (as needed) to gather necessary financial data and provide courteous, professional service. + Review documentation for accuracy; identify and resolve discrepancies or missing information. + Stay informed of current IRS and state tax codes, as well as changes affecting tax preparation. + Maintain confidentiality and adherence to data security standards. Work Schedule: + Seasonal, with flexible schedules available to accommodate part-time, full-time, or weekend preferences during tax season (January–April). + Additional hours may be required near filing deadlines. Requirements Qualifications and Skills: + Previous experience preparing individual and business tax returns is required (minimum of [Insert # of years] years). + Proficiency using UltraTax software or another similar professional tax preparation tool. + Strong understanding of IRS regulations and federal and state tax laws. + Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and calculations. + Ability to multitask and meet deadlines during peak tax season in a high-volume environment. + Effective communication skills for potential client interactions.
