Description We are in search of a Tax Preparer to join our team in Brooklyn, New York. In this role, your primary function will be to handle the tax-related needs of our clients, within the context of our CPA firm. This role offers a short term contract employment opportunity. Responsibilities • Preparation of individual tax returns • Providing tax advice to clients based on their unique situations • Ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws • Assisting in the resolution of tax-related issues for clients • Keeping updated with the latest tax laws and regulations • Maintaining confidentiality and professionalism in all client interactions • Handling any other tax-related tasks as required by the firm. Requirements • Proven experience as a Tax Preparer in a CPA firm or similar setting. • Comprehensive knowledge of individual tax preparation and related laws. • Proficiency in tax preparation software and record-keeping systems. • Demonstrated ability to accurately calculate, post, correct, and manage accounting figures and financial records. • Strong attention to detail with the capability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and meet tight deadlines. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with clients, colleagues, and government officials. • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification or relevant qualification is preferred. • Strong analytical skills to effectively identify potential tax credits and liabilities and ensure accurate tax returns. • Proficiency in Office Suite, particularly strong capabilities in Excel. • Exceptional client service along with the ability to develop excellent client relationships. • Strong written and verbal communication skills. • Ability to work in a team and independently when required. • Willingness to keep up-to-date with the latest changes in tax laws and regulations.
