Description We are offering a contract opportunity for a Tax Preparer in Pleasanton, California. As a Tax Preparer, you will be responsible for undertaking tasks within the tax preparation industry, ensuring accurate and timely preparation and filing of individual tax returns. Responsibilities • Process and prepare individual tax returns with precision and attention to detail • Utilize E1040 and other tax preparation software to calculate and determine accurate tax returns • Handle client inquiries related to tax preparation and provide insightful responses • Maintain thorough records of client tax information and transactions • Monitor client accounts to ensure compliance and accuracy in tax return filings • Proactively update knowledge on tax laws and regulations to provide informed tax preparation services • Identify potential tax credits and liabilities and ensure accurate and complete returns are filed in a timely manner • Guarantee client confidentiality and privacy, adhering to all legal standards and regulations. Requirements • Proficiency in Tax Preparation software and tools • Prior experience as a Tax Preparer • Familiarity with E1040 tax return forms • Experience in Individual Tax Return preparation • Knowledge of current tax laws and regulations • Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy in tax calculations and filings • Excellent communication skills for client interactions • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion • Ability to meet tight deadlines during tax season • Good organizational and time management skills • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Enrolled Agent (EA) certification preferred • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field is desirable • Familiarity with state and federal tax regulations and procedures • Strong analytical skills for interpreting tax laws and understanding client's financial situations • Comfortable using digital platforms and software for remote tax preparations.
