Overview We are in search of a Payroll Tax Processor in our Reno, NV office. To be successful you should bring with you strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving abilities and exhibit a highly collaborative approach to work. You must have an aptitude to seamlessly flex between multiple payroll processes. You will be part of an operation that is customer-obsessed. You will be responsible for solving complex payroll tax issues accurately and timely for Federal, State, and Local tax agencies while effectively supporting a critical function for our payroll business. What you'll bring + Champions department and company culture, while taking a forward-looking and infectiously positive stance. + Demonstrate excellent organizational skills with attention to detail, time management, task oriented, good interpersonal skills, patience, perseverance, and follow-through. + Excellent analytical, technical and technology skills with knowledge of generally accepted accounting/financial principles, and tax compliance knowledge. + Knowledge of general tax regulations, compliance, and tax payments. + Ability to work effectively with other internal and external departments and customers, including effective communication skills, and ability to work in a hybrid environment. + Outstanding customer service skills + Ability to identify gaps in processes and articulate opportunities for improvement. + Advanced level computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel and e-mail proficiency. + High school, GED is required. Higher level education is preferred. How you will lead + Performs independent research on tax related issues and resolves tax notices and related penalties. + Completes monthly, quarterly, and annual tax reconciliations as appropriate to ensure accurate filings. + Examines all payroll records to ensure proper recording of tax transactions and compliance with applicable laws. + Analyzes requests and accurately prepares and files amended tax returns. + Validate client information reported to various state and federal agencies. + Performs W-2 reconciliations and processes corrections to client data as required. + Provide customer service for established clients, answering questions related to payroll, tax filings and associated processes. + Ability to read and interpret complex federal, state and local policies, regulations and other written documentation as it pertains to tax compliance and filings. + Work with minimal supervision to analyze, research and resolve complex payroll tax issues, escalating issues when necessary to the next level of support.
