The Tax Senior (SALT) position collaborates with tax department resources and contribute to client relations for assigned tax compliance and consulting engagements for clients. Participate in ongoing administrative duties and initiatives for the department as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

• CPA designation is preferred.

• 3+ years of relevant tax experience.

• Experience in a public accounting or professional services firm environment is preferred.

• Intermediate to advanced knowledge of State Income/Franchise Tax, Credits and Incentives, Sales and Use Tax, and Property Tax. This includes being aware of relevant state and local legislative updates, court cases, announcements, and authorities. Analytical, technical and tax accounting / technology skills with proficiency in US GAAP, tax compliance, corporate consolidated returns, and combined state tax returns.

• Exhibits a high degree of professionalism and maintain the highest level of confidentiality.

• Able to demonstrate critical thinking and analytical skills.

• Strong leadership, recruiting, training, coaching and mentoring skills, coupled with excellent written, interpersonal and presentation skills.

• Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills in business and technical environments.

• Professionally and appropriately communicate with a diverse group of individuals.

• Able to work in a highly organized manner within a fast-paced, innovative, and continuously changing environment.

• Demonstrates technical proficiency and the capability of performing at an intermediate or advanced level with respect to the Microsoft Office Suite of products with an emphasis in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills, or similar software applications.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Participates in full range of State and Local Tax services including income/franchise and sales/use tax return preparation, tax research, preparation of technical memorandums, drafting client correspondence, assisting clients in audit defense.

• Identifies optimal filing positions, exemptions, credits and incentives, and identify corporate structures for tax minimization purposes.

• Maintains proactive communication with clients to exceed expectations, ensure satisfaction, make sure deadlines are met, and lead change efforts effectively.

• Works closely with members of other practice groups to develop internal relationships.

• Manages, trains, and mentors associates and interns on client projects and professional development.

• Serves as a technical resource for associates and interns; begin to identify new technical issues in specialty area and take initiative to communicate with others on staff to increase awareness and understanding of the issue(s).

• Conducts sophisticated tax research, consulting, and analysis to discuss with managers, senior managers, principals, and shareholders.

Other Duties:

• Provides courteous and prompt service to all internal and external parties. Prioritizes and addresses requests and assignments in a professional and cooperative manner.

• Identifies opportunities and recommends methods to improve service, and work processes. Assists in the implementation of quality improvement initiatives.

• May assist co-workers in the completion of tasks and assignments to ensure continuity of service and demonstrating team work skills. Actively supports teamwork throughout the organization.

• Perform other services as assigned.

Other Considerations:

• May periodically travel and work from different company locations.

• May be required to work overtime, and/or on weekends as needed.

• Must arrive at EisnerAmper offices or client locations in a timely manner and be ready to perform job responsibilities.
