As a Tax Accounting Specialist, you'll provide tax consultation for trivago's stakeholders and implement best practices in our tax accounting processes. How you’ll make an impact: Prepare tax calculations and disclosures in accordance with US GAAP during quarter-end and year-end closing, including current taxes, deferred taxes, effective tax rates, monitor uncertain tax positions, and prepare tax notes for consolidated financial statements Calculate Digital Services Tax and handle the periodic filing of Digital Services Tax returns Perform tax-related SOX controls Monitor and analyze current developments regarding worldwide tax changes and developments, especially relating to Digital Services Tax Provide tax consultation for internal and trivago stakeholders with a particular focus on international tax Manage the tax aspects of trivago's (foreign) entities such as transfer pricing and tax audits and coordinate tax risks worldwide Coordinate work streams with external consultants What you'll need to thrive: A bachelor's degree or diploma in taxation, finance, accounting or qualified accountant/tax clerk (Bilanzbuchhalter/Steuerfachangestellter) 2-3 years’ experience in international tax with a knowledge of tax regulations and accounting Advanced Microsoft Excel skills The ability to multitask while completing tasks accurately and in a timely manner Keen attention to details and problem-solving skills A positive ‘can do’ attitude and eagerness to take responsibility for projects and processes assigned Excellent and fluent written and verbal communication in English (our company language) Stand out with: Experience working with reporting/ERP software Proficiency in performing SOX controls
