Description Patricia Carlile with Robert Half is offering an exciting opportunity for a Tax Staff - Public in the professional services industry. This role is based in WEST LINN, Oregon, 97068-4198, United States. As a Tax Staff - Public, you will be primarily responsible for organizing and managing clients' tax data, preparing various tax returns, and responding to tax notices. This role also involves tax research projects and maintaining confidentiality in client matters. Responsibilities: • Organize and manage clients' tax data for the completion of individual tax returns and corporate, partnership, S-corp, and trust tax returns. • Review tax information submitted by clients for completeness and clarify any questions with clients. • Maintain a thorough understanding of tax regulations to answer clients' queries. • Prepare personal tax returns and corporate, partnership, and S-corp returns. • Respond to tax notices and draft initial responses when required. • Conduct tax research projects as needed. • Prepare property tax refund forms, employee benefit plan tax returns, and payroll tax returns. • Complete S-election and requests for accounting changes as required. • Make necessary adjusting entries and complete trial balances to prepare a tax return. • Maintain an understanding of depreciation and depreciation software to set up clients and read and understand depreciation reports. • Prepare tax accruals as may be required in preparing corporate tax returns. • Maintain confidentiality in all client matters. Job Order: 03600-0013058019 Requirements • Demonstrated proficiency in Accounting Software Systems • Experience using CaseWare software • Familiarity with CCH IntelliConnect and CCH Prosystem platforms • Proficient in using CCH ProSystem Fx software • Ability to perform Accounting Functions accurately and efficiently • Experience in Auditing and Compliance procedures • Knowledge of Entity Formation processes • Ability to prepare and interpret Financial Statements • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel • Strong attention to detail and accuracy • Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks • Willingness to stay updated with industry trends and developments • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information • CPA certification or progress towards certification is a plus.
