Description Tax Accountant / Senior! Our client is a boutique tax firm in Albuquerque and adding Tax Accountant or Tax Senior depending on experience! Hybrid role in Albuquerque, so you must be local. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing and reviewing tax returns, interpreting tax laws and regulations, and assisting in tax planning. Responsibilities: • Prepare and review tax returns for individuals, partnerships, corporations, and nonprofit organizations. • Interpret and comply with tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance. • Assist in tax planning and strategies to optimize client's tax positions. • Communicate with clients about tax preparation procedures, resolve any issues, and clarify any discrepancies in their tax information. • Utilize Prosystems software to improve productivity and ensure accurate tax preparation. • Collaborate with other members of the tax department to meet the firm's goals and deadlines. • Stay updated with changes in tax law and accountancy regulations, attending detail oriented development courses and workshops when necessary. • Conduct research on tax matters and IRS regulations and communicate findings to Managers and Partners. • Respect the confidentiality of client information and maintain accurate customer credit records. Requirements Ideal candidate will have: • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role or related field • Proficiency in Tax Accounting Software Systems and CCH ProSystem helpful • Demonstrable knowledge and experience in compliance, entity formation, and financial statement preparation • Experience in preparing and managing Annual Income Tax Provision, Consolidated Tax Return, and Corporate Income Tax • Familiarity with Domestic Tax, Estate Tax, Excise Tax, and Federal Tax Return preparation • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Ability to work independently and within a team • Detail-oriented and highly organized • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field is preferred • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is a plus or working towards CPA preferred. • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
