SWBC is seeking a talented individual to join our investment services division. The ideal candidate will have a solid skill set in trading taxable products such as Agencies, Certificates of Deposit (CDs), Government securities, and Mortgages (MBS). This role involves trading with Banks, Corporations, Institutional Accounts, and Separately Managed Accounts (SMAs). The successful candidate will be expected to maintain and grow customer connections/accounts and manage a significant inventory of $100 million or more. Competitive draw vs. commission payouts are offered.
Essential duties include the following:
Executes buy and sell orders for taxable fixed income products, including Agencies, CDs, Government securities, and MBS.Develops and maintains strong relationships with Banks, Corporations, Institutional Accounts, and SMA clients.Provides multiple bids and offers processing for financial advisors, financial consultants, and financial institutions.Monitors and manages a significant inventory of $100 million or more, ensuring optimal liquidity and profitability.Creates offering sheets for financial advisors and clients as requested.Maintains trade blotters and recordkeeping documents to validate pricing and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.Researches and resolves trade execution issues, facilitating communication as needed.Contributes to the development of trading strategies based on market trends and client needs.Collaborates with the Fixed Income team to ensure timely and efficient execution of trades.Provides market color and spread data to investment discussions.Tracks spreads and other market data for portfolio managers and research.Serious candidates will possess the minimum qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.Minimum of one (1) year of experience in fixed income trading, preferably with a focus on taxable products.Securities License Series 7 and 63 (or ability to obtain within one year of hire).Strong knowledge of fixed income markets, trading resolutions, and compliance policies.Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.Proficiency in using trading platforms such as Bloomberg and various electronic trading systems.Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.Self-motivated with a disciplined approach to work and attention to detail.Ability to sit for long periods while analyzing financial products and executing trades.Ability to stoop, kneel, and lift 10-20 lbs. of files or other documents as needed.SWBC offers*:
