Job Description:

A Relationship Manager within the Global Institutional Relationship Management team serves as a focal point for a group of institutional clients. They take an initiative-taking and innovative approach to providing outstanding service, problem solving and identifying cross-selling opportunities that will expand and deepen client relationships with TDGIS. The Relationship Manager will also actively pursue new business development opportunities within a hybrid model approach.

The Director, Relationship Management is responsible for leading assigned client experience efforts and builds upon the firm’s reputation for excellence in investment management and client service. This role advocates the client's best interest to TDGIS and serves clients as a trusted advisor on a broad range of asset management issues, representing the full range of TDGIS' asset management capabilities. Additionally, this role builds market understanding of TDGIS as a provider of leading-edge investment solutions, resulting in an increase new business opportunities amongst the asset owner community.

Depth & Scope:

Develops, maintains, and communicates a relationship management strategy frameworkAscertain the client’s investment and servicing needs, strategy and priorities. From this, develop, agree upon and execute the client experienceConduct regular relationship reviews with client, both formal and informalLead the client’s dedicated team of portfolio managers, client portfolio managers, client service manager, and when appropriate consultant developers in the overall service of the relationshipBuild strong relationships with field consultants gathering market intelligence and disseminating it back to the teamFacilitate meetings of internal stakeholders to assess, strategize and assign accountability of tasks to complete requestsProvide oversight of client initiated RFI and DDQ processAnticipates emerging customer trends as a basis for recommending products and services and expanding the businessHighly sophisticated understanding of customer needs and competitor offerings that contribute to the direction of the business line or segmentManages relationships that are characterized by significantly complex products and services provided and/or take a significant business development focusSolves unique problems with broad impact on the business segment and financialsImpacts a range of sales achievement for largest accounts and relationships, and a significant part of one or more business linesCommunicates complex ideas, anticipates potential objections and persuades customers; negotiates significant termsProvides leadership guidance, makes recommendations and collaborates with business to ensure solutions meets the business needs on a complex project or programIdentifies and leads problem resolution for project/program complex requirements related issues at all levels

Education & Experience:

10 + years' experience in a relationship management and/or business development role with a proven record in cultivating relationships within the institutional and intermediary asset owner marketplaceUndergraduate degreePreferred designations: CFA, CAIA, CIPM or MBAKnowledge of the asset owner marketplace, including pension, insurance, endowment & foundation, sub-advisory and understanding all aspects of the investorsPreferred knowledge and/or interest in various asset classes, including public equities, alternatives, and fixed incomeA high-energy level and the ability to be focused and self-directed are essentialOutstanding communication, presentation and consensus building skills required, in addition to proven leadership skills and project management experienceConfident prospecting, lead generation and relationship management skillsCapacity to function independently while providing appropriate and meaningful feedback and direction to senior management on issues/challengesStrong intellectual curiosity, business judgment, resource management and negotiation skillsUp to date knowledge of relevant legislationSolid collaboration and performance in team atmosphereDemonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneouslyStrong attention to detail and follow through
