Location: Erie 1 BOCES Special Education Services E1B Education Campus West Seneca, NY Assignment: Itinerant Annual Salary: $46,138 to $53,414 Based on experience and certification $1,750 w/ Masters Degree Hours: 7:15 AM - 2:45 PM Exceptional package including but not limited to: Employment - Erie 1 BOCES (https://www.e1b.org/en/about-us/employment.aspx#Great-Benefits) + Paid annual Holidays + Generous Paid Personal/Sick time + Premium Health and Dental plans (E1B pays 85%) + Medical Insurance waiver allowance + Life insurance at NO cost to you + FSA plan + Commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion + NYS Retirement System + 403b AND 457 retirement plans General Responsibilities: Assess new and current students for speech services using appropriate assessment tools/methods, write cohesive evaluation reports, make appropriate service recommendations, develop IEP goals and objectives, collect data and keep accurate records, successful behavior strategies to encourage students. Specific Responsibilities: The individual will provide speech/language services for students with disabilities in various special education classifications. The individual will assess and support students with disabilities for initial placement, progress monitoring, and/or re-evaluation purposes. The individual will write evaluation reports and read, write, and monitor Individualized Education Plans (IEPs). The individual will maintain session notes and any other required documents for the purpose of Medicaid billing. The individual will provide “under the direction of” services for teachers of the speech hearing and handicapped (as assigned), participate in team meetings, write progress notes, and participate in professional development opportunities as they become available. Speech-Language Pathologist licensure is required. Must have or be eligible for appropriate certification upon hire. Regular attendance and dependability are required. Consults frequently with school personnel and parents as to the individual student's progress. Undertakes continuous professional growth and development related to the field of teaching and/or specific area(s) of expertise. Other responsibilities may be assigned. The assignment is subject to change. Job Qualifications + Must hold valid NYS Teaching Certification in Teacher of Students with Speech and Language Disabilities (TSSLD) or Teacher of Speech and Hearing Handicapped + Masters degree preferred + Certification of Clinical Competence from ASHA and/or NYS Speech Pathologist License + Knowledge in language, articulation, oral-motor, augmentative communication, sign language, literacy, and/or other areas related to the field + Must be willing and able to travel to, navigate, and work in various school environments with students with varied needs K-21 Job Number: 0524-0008
