Benefits: Paid time off and holidays per the school contract Medical, vision, dental and life insurance 403(b) employee participation and employer match Salary: $65000 - $82000 / depending on education / experience Job Summary: The teacher will provide direct instruction to students in accordance with each of their Individual Education Plans. Candidates must hold a New Jersey State certification as a Teacher of the Handicapped, Teacher of Students with Disabilities, and be highly qualified in the area of instruction. Actively participate in ongoing quality improvement activities including but not limited to: serving as a member of a quality improvement team, customer input, incident/accident and client grievance review, peer record review and program evaluation/quality improvement projects Maintain accurate daily attendance records and perform other record keeping functions Maintain appropriate classroom discipline and provision of an atmosphere conducive to learning Participate in the development of each child’s Individual Education Plan Selection and ordering of appropriate instructional equipment and materials Prepare quarterly evaluations, Progress Reports and Report Cards for each student in relation to his/her IEP goals and objectives Attend staff meetings and meetings with parents and/or school district personnel Maintain a neat, clean and orderly classroom and properly secure the classroom at the end of each school day Communicate students’ daily performance to residential and clinical staff Oversee Paraprofessionals assigned to their classroom and ensure that they comply with school policy and procedures Deliver curriculum to students utilizing a learning center model of instruction, whereby students are provided with individualized and small group instruction and remediation Must hold a New Jersey State certification as a Teacher of the Handicapped, Teacher of Students with Disabilities Must be highly qualified in the area of instruction Excellent interpersonal and child management skills Must maintain yearly 12 hour requirements in behavior management, suicide prevention, substance abuse, and HIV and sexuality Must have CARI-CHRI, physical and PPD test completed prior to or upon hire Must have physical repeated every three years Must attend cultural competence trainings when available and attend ongoing trainings related to population served Must possess a valid driver’s license
