Job Summary:
For this role, we are seeking an individual to provide leadership and direction for Business Excellence resources and activities. This individual should have with a diverse business background, preferably with direct experience in medium to large scale manufacturing companies, with specific supply chain, process excellence and organizational change proficiencies. Excellent communication, influencing, leadership and facilitation skills as well as the ability to see multiple sides of an issue are essential.
Key Responsibilities:
Under general direction from the Joints US Business Excellence Manager at J&J MedTech – Joint Reconstruction and in accordance with all applicable federal, state and local laws/regulations and Corporate Johnson & Johnson, procedures and guidelines, this position:
+ This role will be the main point of contact for Business Excellence at the Warsaw, Indiana facility.
+ Supervises the execution of Business Excellence and Lean initiatives at the site.
+ Leads and coordinates the Business Excellence Engineering staff work assignments. Assign tasks according to projected scope and priorities for the site.
+ Sustain the ongoing development and implementation of the Joints lean transformation strategy and lead the change management aspects of the Lean program.
+ Coach, mentor and develop the Business Excellence Team & support education of staff throughout the business.
+ Promote and deploy aspects of JJPS (Johnson and Johnson Production System) across operations.
+ Lead and report site operational dashboards as part of Tiered Review Process.
+ Develop and co-ordinate site-wide lean training modules.
+ Actively promote the use of the DMAIC framework for all reengineering type activities.
+ Ensure all transformation changes are conducted to the highest of standards in a safe, compliant, and effective manner.
+ Facilitate lean driven events throughout the manufacturing and transactional value streams that deliver breakthrough process improvements.
+ Demonstrate strong leadership and a clearly identifiable work ethos throughout the lean program.
+ Develop and lead reciprocal Lean initiatives within the site that align with our Joints vision.
+ Responsible for presenting business-related issues or opportunities to next management level
+ Responsible for following all Company guidelines related to Health, Safety and Environmental practices as applicable.
+ Responsible for ensuring personal and Company compliance with all Federal, State, local and Company regulations, policies, and procedures
+ Performs other duties assigned as needed
**Qualifications**
Education:
+ A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree is required; Science/ Engineering or relevant degree
Experience and Skills:
+ Minimum of 4 years of relevant work experience
+ Leadership experience in a Manufacturing plant-based environment
+ Proven track record in leading significant Change initiatives that have delivered results for an organization.
+ Lead and motivate a team, command the respect of peers, along with site leadership team, and influence others without direct authority
+ Achieve objectives through coaching others, both in the JJPS team and in the line organization at Plant leadership level
+ Communicate with conviction at all levels (both written and verbally)
+ Strongly advocate the operational excellence principles
+ Think strategically and develop plans to reach objectives in context of on the ground team support, knowledge codification and development of expertise
+ Plan, prioritize and organize complex tasks
+ Solve problems by applying structured root cause problem solving tools and coach others to apply them
Preferred:
+ Desirable Green or Black Belt Certification in Lean and/or Six Sigma.
+ Minimum 5 years of experience in Operations (internal or external).
+ Demonstrated leadership, training delivery, and deployment of Lean at multiple levels of an organization is preferred.
+ Outstanding project and change management skills including the understanding of both individual change and organizational change is preferred.
Other:
+ Primary location for this role is Warsaw, Indiana.
+ May require up to 10% domestic and/or international travel to other locations and sites.
+ Must be willing to work onsite 100% Monday-Friday.
