On Call Requirements: Minimum of 8 shifts per month or more depending on staffing needs. 1 full weekend (Friday,Saturday,Sunday) per month or every other weekend as needed.
Department Overview:
The Cath Lab at Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center is a 50-person team of monitor techs, cardiovascular invasive techs, registered nurses and patient care staff for additional support. The team sees a mix of inpatient and outpatient and an average of 10 procedures per day. Heart and Vascular has 3 labs for EP, Cardiac and IR at SNVMC.
About the Role:
Assists the Team Coordinator/Manager/Director with daily operations, coordination of work, quality and service, achievement of operating center goals and objectives, customer satisfaction, and in meeting regulatory requirements. Provides technical expertise and is a resource for other team members through participation in quality control and improvement/evaluation activities, staff development activities and daily support to team members. Through utilization of specialized equipment and under the direction of a qualified physician, assists in the performance of cardiac and vascular procedures. Resulting in an accurate diagnosis and/or optimal treatment of congenital or acquired heart disease while maintaining maximum patient safety and comfort. The Cardiovascular Invasive Tech performs/reviews a baseline patient assessment, evaluates patient response to diagnostic or interventional maneuvers during cardiac catheterization laboratory procedures. Provides patient care commonly used in the cardiac catheterization laboratory as requested and under the direction of a qualified physician. The Cardiovascular Invasive Tech acts as a first assistant during diagnostic and therapeutic catheterization.
Requirements:
5 years' experience in Cardiac /Radiology invasive procedures.
Registered Cardiac Invasive Specialist OR Registered Nursing License Required.
RN candidates are required to have their RCIS.
ACLS and BLS certified by the AHA
Education: Cardiovascular Technology Associates Or Registered Nursing
