KARL STORZ is seeking a skilled and dedicated Team Lead, Onsite Endoscopic Specialist to join our dynamic Onsite Service team at a client hospital based in Kansas City, KS. In this critical role, you will be responsible for providing hands-on customer support for KARL STORZ devices, including endoscopic instruments, video equipment, and OR1 systems. Reporting to the Region Manager, Onsite Service, you will collaborate closely with hospital teams, including the Sterile Processing Department (SPD), OR team members, and Biomedical staff to ensure seamless operation of medical equipment.
As the Team Lead, you will be a key player in maintaining high standards of quality, troubleshooting, and training while focusing on optimizing service efficiency and reducing repair costs.
Key Responsibilities:
Customer Support: Provide face-to-face support to hospital teams, including OR, SPD, and Biomed departments, ensuring all KARL STORZ equipment is functioning properly. Device Maintenance and Management: Oversee daily maintenance of KARL STORZ products, ensuring they are always in good working order and ready for use. Preventative Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Perform regular preventative maintenance on all KARL STORZ devices and troubleshoot any video or instrument issues that arise in the operating room (OR). Instrument Inspection and Documentation: Inspect and document the functionality of instruments, ensuring all repairs or replacements are completed within the budget. Training & Education: Provide training to OR and supporting departments to ensure proper usage and care of equipment, improving overall efficiency and reducing downtime. Process Improvement: Lead initiatives to design and implement process improvements that streamline operations, enhance efficiencies, and reduce repair costs. Device Handling: Monitor, report, and facilitate repair and exchange transactions for all KARL STORZ devices. Instrument Transportation & Cleaning: Supervise the transportation, cleaning, sterilization, and packaging of instruments after use, maintaining high standards of hygiene and readiness.
Requirements:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent is required; a higher degree is preferred. Experience: At least 2 years of experience in medical device repair, sales, or service management. Skills: Excellent written and verbal business communication skills. Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to multitask and manage time effectively. Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel, for reporting and data management. Physical Requirements: Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 25 lbs. Team-Oriented: Demonstrated success working in a collaborative, service-oriented team environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) certification is a plus. Experience working in a hospital or healthcare setting is preferred.
