As a Team Lead, you’ll join our growing team to build high-performance, scalable services in an impactful, challenging role. Working on the SportsCore team—where every single sports event DraftKings offers begins—you’ll help shape the future of a rapidly evolving industry. You’ll lead a team of engineers poised for growth and collaborate with colleagues across multiple locations to drive innovative solutions.
 

What you’ll do as a Team Lead

Lead a team of up to 7–8 engineers to deliver business-critical features where high quality is a primary expectation.

Influence the product roadmap in collaboration with product owners and other stakeholders, establishing strong lines of communication.

Mentor and support team members through career management and feedback, fostering a culture of continuous learning and iterative improvement.

Establish a safe environment with a transparent and collaborative team culture.

Challenge engineers to build testable, resilient, highly available, scalable, and innovative systems with proper monitoring in place.

Implement and maintain software alongside your team members.

 

What you’ll bring   

3+ years of experience managing a software engineering team (5+ engineers), with a focus on talent growth and retention.

5+ years of hands-on experience as a software engineer, working with C# or Java.

Expertise in messaging and distributed systems, including event-driven and microservices architectures.

Strong ability to cultivate and develop engineering talent while optimizing team performance.

In-depth understanding of the work environment’s impact on engineers, along with experience in training budgets, career development strategies, and resource planning.
