The Team Lead for Popular Bank’s Treasury/Cash Management Sales and Service teams is responsible for developing, leading and managing the sales and implementation efforts of our treasury management products and services for our commercial and small business clients. The Bank has a comprehensive treasury management suite of products and services and this team is expected to develop sales and service strategies across a wide spectrum of industries (commercial, small business, not-for-profits, real estate, public sector, etc.). The objective of this team is to help Popular Bank deliver a compelling value proposition to the customer that revolves around optimizing their cash management operations and supports our lending and deposit gathering efforts by our Commercial and Small Business Relationship Managers, Branch Managers and Branch bankers.
In this position, you will: • Develop and execute business strategy aimed at positioning Popular Bank as a strong and compelling treasury management product and services player in the NY Metro market.• Organize and manage the sales efforts of the team to build a healthy pipeline of prospects and deals that will drive sustainable treasury management fee income growth and its related deposits.
• Develop relationship management programs/strategies to provide an exceptional customer experience to drive customer engagement and net promoter score (NPS). Lead this team of professionals in the support and growth of existing client relationships and maintain direct involvement in development of new relationships with our various partners in the commercial lending teams, small business lending team and our branches.
• Oversee onboarding of clients and implementation of services, as well as handling of day-to-day servicing issues
• Collaborate with the necessary internal stakeholders to develop products, packaging and pricing strategies to address the unique needs of our wide-ranging types of clients and prospects.
• Effectively manage the evaluation and responses to request for proposals (RFPs) and preparing top-quality proposals and presentations.
• Responsible for pricing strategy, including management of pricing exceptions.
• Accountable for line of business results, this leader is responsible for the overall treasury management net fee revenue targets, deposits, referrals and the NPS scores.
• Responsible for controllable expenses, leader must exercise expense control discipline.
• Ensure all deals conform to our corporate risk and sales practice guidelines as well as all state and federal regulations.
• Collaborate with other businesses to promote sales of other bank products.
• Coach team on sales and relationship management techniques/practices. Guide direct reports in the achievement of their goals.
• Mentor and develop employees as an important retention strategy and to deepen our talent bench and strengthen succession planning.
• Develop and nurture internal and external networking including centers of influence, networking events, industry conferences, etc. as a source of commercial banking leads.
• Regularly monitor competitive landscape to understand pricing trends, sales best practices, productivity benchmarks, product innovation, etc. To be considered, you will need: • Master’s Degree preferred, Bachelor's Degree required
• Four to ten years of experience or related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience with focus on Treasury Management Sales and Service Banking.
• Proven track record in commercial banking and leadership skills.
• Advanced knowledge of finance, commercial banking products and services
• Strong sales, marketing, business development and negotiation skills
• Working knowledge of credit and credit quality
• Collaborative work style.
Salary Range Information
Our base salary for this position located in New York generally ranges between $225,000.00 and $255,000.00 annually, depending on business need and on your qualifications and experience. Base salary does not include incentive compensation, commission, or any other type of remuneration or benefits.
