POSITION SCOPE:
The Team Leader is responsible and accountable for the continuous safe and efficient operations and/or maintenance of an assigned functional area of responsibility. Provides leadership, coaching, counseling, advising and teaching others through day-to-day contact. Directs, monitors and evaluates the performance of direct reports within their reporting organization. Prepares equipment repair plans that require high-risk JSA or detailed electrical troubleshooting.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Coordinates, monitors, and supervises the activities of the direct reports ensuring individual member goals are achieved in support of assigned Team goals.Develop scopes and specifications for contract work. Directs contractors when required to maintain and repair electrical equipment, systems and components.Substation Maintenance. Troubleshoot and coordinate activities in high-voltage substations. Analyze pre and post trip data. Analyze power equipment, breaker control schemes, transformer, motors and relaying protection schemes.Develop switching orders, review one-lines, electrical safety plans and oversee switching activities. Plan, direct and supervise small scale high, med and low voltage equipment repairs.Coordinate switchyard maintenance activities with Power Distribution GroupElectrical safety coordination and planning. Administer 70E policies, IPL low voltage standards, substation standards, insulated tool testing, and electrical safety audits.Plan and supervise electrical projects such as transformer repairs or replacement, specialized electrical testing, mid voltage switchgear repairs, and develop recovery plans for equipment failures.Analyzes and solves problems and assists Maintenance personnel with installation, maintenance, controls and repairs of electrical equipment. Develop solutions to correct chronic reliability issues that require detailed troubleshooting, high-risk JSAs or RCA.Analyze thermography and testing reports and develop repair plans.QUALIFICATIONS:
Degreed applicants with three (3) years experience in the power plant industry, substation or industrial electrical maintenance preferred (or) Non-degreed candidates with five (5) years experience in the power plant industry, substation or industrial electrical maintenanceTwo (2) years of recent verifiable experience in a supervisory role a plusSuccessful experience participating in and managing work team activatesProficient personal computer skills including CMMS, Excel, Word and AccessExceptional oral and written communication skillsResults oriented, self-motivated, and able to work with limited direct supervisionPREFERRED SKILLS:
