Your role and responsibilitiesSafety – Toolbox Talks with employees at the start of the shiftAssign Job Tasks to employees by priority and qualificationsComplete Shift to Shift Sheets – Discuss with oncoming/leaving Team Leads and your TeamsPerform 2 Quality Inspections on each workstation (and testing as required on the Control Plan)First Piece Inspections at Start-Ups – Responsible for getting next orders (Labels, BOM & Control Plan) following the current scheduleComplete bar code scanning once per shift5S Sustainment Sheets – Verify each workstation and Audit 2 workstations per shiftSupport Lean Methods – Motivate Teams to always use best Lean MethodsUpdate Production Attainment Boards every two hoursKeep 3-sided boards up to date during the shift (The electronic turnover should always mirror this information)Relieve machine operators for breaks and lunchRecord machine efficiencies throughout the shift to enter information into Excel worksheets at the end of the shift (Use as much information as possible, explaining downtime/scrap)Safety Observation Report (1 per Quarter) – Encourage your Team to do the sameAbility to operator all production equipment within their cell and have a general knowledge of technical skilled processes and equipment.Train employees/temporaries, update New Team Member Talks (as needed) and Training MatrixesRequire employees to inspect tools and equipment before each use. Make daily spot checks to determine that equipment is in good condition.Maintain good attendance and punctuality as defined in the Attendance PolicyWork with Teams using problem solving, root cause analysis and Kiazen activities to resolve machine, tool or process issues
Qualifications for the roleHigh School Diploma/GED required.Minimum 1 to 3 years of experience as a machine operator in a similar work environmentBasic Math skillsMicrosoft Office computer skillsExcellent communication skillsCandidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
