Team Leader

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Direct and lead all employees within the posted operation in the absence of the Production Supervisor. Ability to read, write and perform basic math, read blueprints, and read applicable measuring devices Troubleshoot problems Ability to assist the Production Supervisor in completing production schedules, evaluating employee performance, managing productivity and quality to determined levels, coordinating employee training, maintaining company policies and a safe work environment. Observe all safety policies and quality requirements for the area Perform 5-S audits (provide suggestions for opportunities for improvement, follow-up on suggestions, and improve the acknowledged deficiencies) Input work orders and provide suggestions for decreasing the number of operator influenced errors Perform OPPM’s Complete daily safety checks (ensure checks are being completed) Fill out daily log for number of pieces per hour and review log with supervisor if goals are not achieved Collect operators concerns, discuss and provide resolutions Provide input for employee corrective action Analyze rejections to determine root cause Align product to and from operations Provide proper tooling ordering and availability Help with set-ups and getting parts in specification Perform daily quality checks and layered audits Deal with attendance issues to ensure coverage if necessary (identify critical areas) Provide feedback for employee reviews Conduct operator start-up meetings Lead team in daily stretching activities Training of current employees within Team Leader area Any other duties as assigned

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Candidate must possess excellent mechanical and troubleshooting abilities Excellent leadership skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills Above average ability in math Must be an analytical thinker Ability to handle multiple tasks Possess problem solving skills Must have or acquire the following computer skills; Excel, MP2, Word & Access Ability to work with all engineering and manufacturing personnel to solve tooling and/or process capability issues through innovation and improvements in tooling, set-ups and process use Candidate must not have more than a 1st Written Warning for Quality within the past 2 years Candidate’s past history of quality, scrap, attendance and safety will be reviewed prior to the interview process Willingness and ability to assume leadership roles and responsibilities Must be able to hold employees accountable to ensure rules within the Company handbook are being followed and address employee issues and concerns Must be or become a member of an Employee Involvement Team Candidate must posses an understanding of part functionality Flexibility to work other shifts if needed Individual must be able to conduct themselves in a professional manner at all times
