Aon has an exciting opportunity as a team leader supporting Aon’s Underwriting Management (AUM).
This position is part of the Aon Underwriting Managers (AUM) business, which undertakes underwriting and claims handling services on behalf of insurers. AUM focuses on commercial insurance products across Accident and Health, Property and Casualty, Financial Lines and Marine sectors.

What the day will look like
+ Managing a team of five underwriting assistants
+ Identifying opportunities for continuous improvements, gaining approval, implementing, and tracking outcomes, for example:
+ How the underwriting assistants can better support underwriters
+ How we can better utilise technology to reduce waste.
+ How we can better utilise MI across the team.
+ Supporting the Portfolio Underwriting Manager in managing governance activities across the portfolio
+ Building excellent working relationship with all stakeholders
+ Participating in regular insurer meetings to review progress of the facility.
+ Helping develop training opportunities for the underwriting assistants and wider team.
+ Meeting agreed service standard to bind risks and ensure that the relevant policies are accurate and issued within agreed timescales.
Skills and experience that will lead to success
+ Experience with Lean or similar methodologies.
+ Experience leading a team or an interest in stepping up into a people manager role – a team player with team building ability.
+ Good written and oral communication skills
+ Computer literacy including Microsoft Word and Excel
+ Ability to create reports and analyse numerical data.
+ Insurance experience is an advantage but not required.
