This position is at our 50-megawatt Condon wind farm in east-central Oregon, just outside the city of Condon. The site features 83 600-kilowatt Mitsubishi wind turbines and its rural setting near where the John Day River flows into the Columbia River offers many outdoor activities. ALLETE Clean Energy is seeking a Team Leader to join our team in Condon, Oregon to provide direction, support, and coordination for safe and efficient operation of the Condon Wind Site. In this role, you will support operation and maintenance and site strategy. This will be done through managing, tracking, and reporting site maintenance, work schedules, turbine and field repairs, and other work as required, in addition to supervising the Wind Turbine Technicians, and other staff. When you join ALLETE Clean Energy as a Team Leader, you will be responsible for project capability, process efficiency, cost efficiency, project availability, quality standards, and any contractual obligations of the project site. Additionally, you will evaluate project performance and provide recommendations to enhance reliability, efficiency, and ultimately, the financial outcomes of the projects. RESPONSIBILITIES: + Provide information and support regarding safety standards and procedures, operating and maintenance procedures, environmental compliance, Company policies, and good housekeeping practices. + Provide technical support to the assigned crews via radio and periodic visits to the work sites. + Establish working schedules for site maintenance, repairs, special projects, and other work; verify that crews fully understand their responsibilities. + Monitor the work of the Turbine Technicians and other staff to encourage maximum efficiency and productivity, efficient and economical utilization of materials, improvement of methods, and elimination of wasteful practices within the department. + Assist High-Voltage, Facilities and Heavy Equipment personnel as needed. + Analyze and interpret data from turbine monitoring systems (e.g., SCADA) as needed. + Prepare the annual budget for the project site or work area and review and revise monthly budgets as needed. REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: + High School Diploma, or equivalent, PLUS seven years or more of supervisory experience in the wind or closely-related industry is required, OR + Associate’s degree in a related technical field PLUS four years or more of supervisory experience in the wind or closely-related industry is required, OR + Bachelor’s degree in a related technical field PLUS two years or more of supervisory experience in the wind or closely-related industry is required SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: + This position will report regularly in person to Condon, OR. + Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license. + Must be able to meet the typical physical/mental/environmental demands of the position: + This role is highly physically demanding and performed outdoors in various weather conditions. You must be capable of climbing, carrying up to 100 pounds, and occasionally working in confined spaces. + While performing this job, you will frequently encounter moving mechanical parts, high and precarious locations, particulate matter, loud noise levels, and the risk of electrical shock. Additionally, you may occasionally be exposed to hazardous chemicals. + Operate independently in mechanical and electrical situations, following provided instructions. + Able to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, basic contracts, blueprints, and schematics. + Skilled in using regular and specialized tools and equipment in office, shop, and field settings. + This position may be subject to assessment of skills, job match and/or aptitude. BENEFITS: + The expected annual compensation range for this position is $89,000 – $112,000. Compensation offered to the selected candidate will vary depending on relevant knowledge, skills, training, experience, and market conditions.
