Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.
Supervisory responsibilities for cable operations and/or warehouse operations including supervisory responsibility for 30-70 hourly associates and 4-6 operations coordinators. This individual will function in either area (Ribbon or Flame Retardant), at any given time, in accordance with business needs. This position is a part of the TCP Leadership team and reports directly into Operations.
Key Responsibilities Responsible for ensuring personal and others' safety at the facility by adhering to safe work practices and proactively reporting any unsafe conditions. Oversees activities in production and/or warehouse to achieve production goals, quality, and cost objectives. Prioritize production schedules based on product induction, equipment efficiency, and materials supply Adjust staffing and machine assignments to achieve optimal flow and efficiency Develops and manages training plans for operators and support staff, ensuring ongoing job-related education and recognizing high performance. Achieve and maintain world class housekeeping and product flow standards Manage employee time and attendance for timely and accurate payroll processing Lead teams to accomplish objectives such as quality improvements, operating expenses, inventory targets, production goals, equipment run time, and on-time shipments Understand cost drivers and manage to lowest cost / highest output impact decisions of team Lead projects that have either direct impact on hourly staffing levels or improvement of flow through the process area Support development Lean project teams that introduce new products or processes into the area Participate in the Team Leader Continuous Improvement Team to improve plant operations. Develop and document procedure revisions for assigned areas. Identify and improve inefficiencies. Implement procedures in all production functions to meet and maintain ISO standards Utilize capacity models to develop staffing and production plans Identify production bottlenecks and manage resources to exploit the bottleneck Investigate and implement assigned Corrective Actions Reduce process variation and improve production yield
Hours of work: Monday-Friday, Night Shift (7pm – 7am)
Experiences/Education - Required Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts Computer skills (Excel – basic formulas and Word) Experiences/Education - Desired Engineering or technical degree 1-3 years' work experience in a manufacturing environment 2-3 years previous supervisory experience Ability to communicate with all levels of the plant organization Problem solving and root cause analysis skillsThis position does not support immigration sponsorship.
The range for this position is $79,166.00 - $108,854.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
