Screen and evaluate donors with Recovery Member staff to ensure potential donors meet MTFs criteria as established by the Medical Board of Trustees. Perform, coordinate and/or triage all functions of the Tissue Services recovery program/clients relating to the referral from donor sources; determining medical suitability with processor, obtaining appropriate authorization and medical/behavioral history, and coordination of recovery arrangements. Responsible for entering donor information into various donor databases. Manage workflow of referrals and ensure that shift performance adheres to established standards. Display respect for the donor and donor family at all times and maintain donor confidentiality. Must be able to work rotating shifts.

Responsibilities Provide on-call donor screening and assign donor numbers to partner programs as appropriate.  Thoroughly assess each potential donor by strictly adhering to MTF donor screening criteria and SOP’s as outlined in the Technical Manual. Utilize the NOCC Screening Guide and the Medical Director’s assistance in thoroughly assessing each potential donor. Collaborate with Recovery Members before and during the Recovery phase.  Approve recovery if all criteria met.  Enter donor information into appropriate databases (e.g. DAS, Stat Trac, and Donor Trac PLUS). Communicate problems and/or issues to the appropriate Managers, departments and agencies for follow up (e.g. Regional Directors, Case Managers, and/or Education Directors). Maintain current knowledge base with latest FDA, AATB, and industry standard changes. Function as a Team Lead when on shift. Ability to Triage calls and coordinate work flow of referrals to ensure that the shift performance adheres to established standards. May act as AOC (Administer on Call). Demonstrate proficiency in Donor Screening and Coordination of donor cases. Work empathetically and professionally with families in crisis and deal with death and grieving families. Provide families with information regarding donation and offer appropriate donation options. Complete Donation Authorization and Medical Risk Assessment. Provide information and complete Consent and Medical Risk assessment with Living Donors. Coordinate all aspects required for donation to occur including coordination of the recovery process with other participating agencies such as hospitals, ME/coroners, funeral homes, OPO’s and/Eye Banks. Complete and correct donor documentation in timely manner. Participate in Quality Assurance Program as defined by Standard Operating Procedures. Attend departmental meetings and complete required training/reading to ensure compliance and to remain current on Tissue Banking issues and standards. Communicate with internal and external clients with behavior and attitude that promotes MTF’s core values. Assist with special projects and perform additional duties as assigned. Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education:  Associate's Degree

Years of Experience:  3 - 5 years

                                    Other:   1 – 2 years Approach/Authorization with Donor Families

Specific Licenses and/or Certifications:   CTBS
