Position Summary:
Oversees food and nutrition daily services. Ensures that meals are prepared in a regular and consistent manner so that food quality standards are met. Assists in ensuring a safe working environment throughout the department.
Accountabilities:
Supports nutrition production which may include cafeteria, patient services, catering and /or retail. Supports supervisor in collecting data for department records and reports as needed. Supports supervisor in the continuing education and development of the nutrition staff. Supervises day-to-day work activities by assigning, prioritizing and monitoring operating standards. Trains new employees on departmental procedures, equipment, kitchen safety, competency assessment and quality. Identifies problems and recommends solutions related to work flow. Maximizes cost efficiency and productivity in the use of all resources of the department and organization. Attends all required department events, staff meetings, and any other job-related functions. Attends and successfully completes all mandatory trainings. Communicates and interacts with co-workers and all others in a pleasant and professional manner at all times. Participates as a team player in all phases of the organization: and is open and responsive to change. Other duties as assigned.
