About the Role:

Join our forward-thinking Prime Design Group in Northern California as we seek a dynamic and seasoned Team Leader to spearhead our next wave of projects. Our group is at the forefront of managing cutting-edge, multi-disciplinary projects for public agencies, transportation authorities, and industrial/manufacturing clients. The projects you’ll spearhead will be diverse, ranging from new ground-up buildings to sophisticated equipment renovations, comprehensive campus master plans, and impactful tenant improvements.

As a leader in our Prime Design Group, you’ll oversee the coordination of diverse teams, including civil and structural engineers and external sub-consultants, to ensure seamless project planning and execution from concept to closeout. Your role will not only involve managing all aspects of development, such as entitlements, construction, and quality assurance but also play a pivotal role in driving business growth. This will be achieved by expanding our client base, enhancing existing relationships, and identifying new opportunities within the industry while serving as the primary liaison between our clients and regulatory agencies.

In our Roseville office, you will join a dedicated team of professionals who are passionate about delivering exceptional engineer-led design services. This position offers the flexibility to be based in either our San Francisco or Sacramento offices, with a unique opportunity to establish a new office in the region, depending on your qualifications and aspirations. What You'll Be Doing:

Lead and Inspire: Manage and mentor a team of engineers and consultants, driving excellence in project delivery and client satisfaction. Project Oversight: Oversee the complete project lifecycle, from initial planning and design to construction and closeout, ensuring all projects meet timelines, budgets, and quality standards. Business Development: Actively engage in business development activities, including identifying potential clients, pursuing new project opportunities, and developing strategies to enhance our market presence. Client Relationships: Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients, agencies, contractors, and consultants, becoming their trusted advisor and go-to problem solver. Innovative Solutions: Tackle challenges head-on, providing innovative and effective solutions that keep projects on track. Interdisciplinary Coordination: Work closely with a wide range of disciplines, including structural engineering, architecture, electrical systems, plumbing, HVAC, geotechnical, and environmental permitting.

What You'll Bring:

A bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture/engineering, or a related field. Professional Engineer (PE) or Structural Engineer (SE) license in California is preferred. A minimum of 10 years of experience in project management or team leadership within engineering or related fields. Proven experience in business development, with a track record of securing new clients and expanding service offerings. Strong knowledge of the full project lifecycle, including conceptual design, consulting services, procurement, entitlement processes, and construction administration. Exceptional communication skills, capable of translating complex technical details into clear, actionable insights for both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Proven organizational skills with a keen ability to prioritize and keep the team focused on key objectives. Proficiency in industry-standard tools such as Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, MS Project, AutoCAD, or Revit. A proactive, problem-solving attitude with a passion for tackling new challenges and driving project success.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

Duties are primarily conducted in a standard office setting, requiring prolonged sitting at a desk or computer table. Occasionally, may be required to lift objects weighing up to 15 lbs. Occasionally visiting project locations and performing field inspections, which may involve walking, standing, kneeling, or navigating uneven terrain.

Compensation

The base salary for this role is competitive and will be determined based on the candidate's experience, education, and skills. The expected base salary for a qualified candidate with at least ten years of experience is $110,000 - $160,000. Additionally, we offer performance-based bonuses to recognize and reward outstanding contributions in each Reporting Center. During the interview process, we'll provide detailed information and address any questions you may have about the overall compensation package and benefits.
