We are currently recruiting for a Team Leader to join our Waste Management Consultancy business. Due to the rapid growth of our business in the civil nuclear waste management sector, we require more support to deliver and continue to expand our expertise.
Jacobs has a leading role in waste strategy, inventory and compliance underpinning the future management of radioactive waste, spent nuclear fuels and nuclear materials. We also support clients with Site End-State decision making and underpinning environmental activities. In the UK, we deliver a diverse range of projects for waste producers, waste management organisations and strategic authorities across all aspects of the waste lifecycle. We are delivering similarly interesting and exciting projects across the globe including projects for clients in Norway, Central & Eastern Europe and Japan.
We are looking to recruit a highly motivated candidate as a technical team leader. The candidate will be expected to grow the business in these areas and further develop their team accordingly, as well as conducting technical work within their own specialism. You will join a friendly, highly collaborative, multi-disciplinary group. We are operating under flexible working arrangements, with a mixture of office-based and home working environments. The role can be based at Harwell, Cumbria, Scrabster or Birchwood and other locations will be considered.
Key Responsibilities\:
The role includes two key aspects – technical delivery in your specialist topic area and leadership of a team of related disciplines.
The technical delivery aspects of the role include\:
Assessment of different options for waste or environment-related issues using recognised approaches such as BAT and BPM Site-end state development projects including data gathering/analysis; options assessments; technical justification Waste planning (waste management plans/cases, waste routing, feasibility assessments) Support to environmental underpinning activities to satisfy regulatory compliance (e.g. environmental permitting, GRR, environmental management systems Stakeholder engagement Best practice studies or the development of guidance documentation Provision of strategic input to Jacobs’ waste retrievals and decommissioning projects, potentially including on-site support Production of concise and well-written technical reports and presentation of results to clients
