Job Description Summary

               

Reporting to the Plant Sr. Safety and Health Manager, this position is considered a preparatory leadership position in which to demonstrate the skills and abilities to take the role of a future safety manager opening. Additionally, the Safety Team Leader may be required to participate in specific development projects outside their respective assigned safety function (Expected that this role would spend some initial time in a production role to learn about the various equipment, the manufacturing process, and leadership roles). This position functions autonomously to lead and implement safety programs at a large food manufacturing location.

Carries out the duties of the Sr. Safety and Health Manager as delegatedParticipates in cross-functional teams to ensure effective implementation of safety initiatives and processSupports management in the implementation of relevant safety processes and procedures and the daily execution of related activitiesSupports each department to maintain compliance with applicable regulations consistent with company safety and health standardsSchedules and leads training activities aimed at compliance to regulatory and company EHSS standards with the ability to work various shifts occasionally to deliver training as assignedLeads/supports employee driven EHS Pillar Team and Key Concepts of Safety efforts as assignedOwns the execution of technical objectives related to assigned responsibilities.

Basic & Preferred Qualifications

B.S. in safety or closely related field (e.g., Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Mgmt., Security, Nursing).Prefer some work/intern experience in an industrial or food manufacturing settingExcellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)Excellent relationship and team-building skillsExcellent WORD, EXCEL, OUTLOOK and SHAREPOINT skills needed

This compensation is specific to this position and takes into account a number of variables. Actual compensation may be higher or lower in the range posted based on various factors, including, but not limited to, job duties, experience and expertise. A candidate’s work location could also impact the actual compensation being outside of the range to reflect local cost of labor. A reasonable annual estimate of the range for this role based on the variables previously mentioned is: $61,320.00 - $91,990.00
