The Technology Early Career (TEC) rotation program is a transformative two-year experience where you'll collaborate with and contribute to three distinct teams. You’ll begin your journey with an extensive onboarding process, encompassing a blend of industry training, Nationwide-specific content, professional development, business acumen, and hands-on labs to equip you with key tools, technologies, and resources.

You’ll be immersed in projects that are integral to Nationwide's mission to protect people, businesses, and futures with extraordinary care. This program will challenge your assumptions, stretch your capabilities, and cultivate the type of leadership crucial in our rapidly evolving technology landscape. As a rotation participant you’ll: Participate in transition weeks following each 8-month rotation, dedicated to networking with leadership, team building, professional development, leadership training, and continuous technical learning; receive continuous coaching and feedback from our management team throughout each rotation, ensuring your development is guided and supported at every stage and participate in multiple engagement events with your rotation cohort.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

Utilizes profession guidelines/expectations to deliver high impact assignments to accelerate development and technical skills.

Provides thought leadership and innovative solutions that align with our workforce strategy and drives business outcomes.  

Demonstrates commitment to continuous learning by completing all required trainings; including Enterprise required learnings and certifications along with program and assignment specific training.

Applies secure software and systems engineering practices throughout the delivery lifecycle to ensure our data and technology solutions are protected from threats and vulnerabilities.

May perform other duties as assigned.

Reporting Relationships: Reports to Supervisor, Manager or Director.  

Typical Skills and Experiences:

Education: Undergraduate studies in computer science, management information systems, or a related technical field is preferred.

Experience: Minimum of one internship in technology and/or 1 year of Nationwide experience preferred.

Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills: Demonstrated knowledge or experience in at least one area of technology. Ability to navigate ambiguity productively. Strong problem-solving skills combined with a passion for innovation. Rapid learning agility and adaptability to modern technologies. Eagerness to broaden skills across various areas of technology. Effective communication skills.

Other criteria, including leadership skills, competencies and experiences may take precedence.

Staffing exceptions to the above must be approved by the hiring manager’s leader and Human Resource Business Partner.
