Responsibilities

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Abide by all Company policies outlined in the Employee Handbook and comply with all Company, Local, State, Federal and Tribal regulations relating to Health, Safety, and Operations.Successfully participate in and complete all training sessions, safety classes, pre-shift meetings, and/or certifications related to the position.Performs all preventive maintenance on facilities and systems, and documents all work, time and materials in the work order system.Conducts walk-through inspections of Hotel and Casino, in both front and back of house areas.Makes repairs to plumbing, electrical, HVAC, kitchen equipment, painted surfaces, carpets, and fixtures.Maintains technical logs, records, and reports of all relevant data as appropriate.Knowledge of Seminole Casino Hotel policies, procedures and schedules to insure minimal interruption to business operations and to prioritize projects appropriately.Screens telephone calls and visitors, ascertaining who can be re-directed to subordinate management. Provides information to callers, including Tribal Council, senior management and key external sources which requires a comprehensive knowledge of company policies, practices and operations.Performs a broad range of administrative details of a highly confidential nature on a regular basis, requiring initiative and judgment to make independent decisions for which probably errors could result in unnecessary costs.Records Minutes of staff meetings; distributes to appropriate personnel.Assist department head in soliciting contractors/vendors, developing scopes of work, and preparing bid proposals, regarding renovations and major repairs to building and property. Place emergency service calls; obtain purchase order numbers; secure job tickets for work performed and verify with maintenance staff for accuracy; prepare requisitions.  Follow-up on emergency service calls to obtain invoices and complete requisitions; get approvals; and forward to Purchasing Dept. Research products and services through the internet.  Initiate contact with existing vendors and establishing working relationship with new ones building an excellent working rapport.  Liaison between department head, staff, outside vendors and contractors.Prepare requisitions for parts, supplies, chemicals, equipment, tools and services.  Work closely with Purchasing Dept. regarding status of purchase orders; delivery times; receiving orders. Follow up with Accounts Payables securing deposit checks and closing out purchase orders.Keep a log of all requisitions/purchase orders from inception to completion and update vendor files. Record and process all petty cash receipts and corporate card purchases. Maintain attendance logs and update files for Facilities/Public Space staff. Review/verify weekly payroll for Facilities and Public Space staff; enter any corrections, vacations, holidays into the system.Track/verify utility consumption and payments; HVAC equipment repairs. Prepare CAP-EX spread sheets. Develop and implement interdepartmental tracking forms. Receives, opens, and distributes incoming mail, safeguards confidential material. Receives and sends facsimile and electronic mail.Sets up and maintains office files and records, reports and other pertinent documents specific to the office. Types various documentation (reports, letters, memos, bid proposals, scopes of work) using computer software.Ensure prompt and discreet notification to managers and/or the Ethics Hotline of any observation of illegal acts or internal ethics violations.Promote positive public/team member relations at all times.Maintain a clean, safe, hazard-free work environment within area of responsibilityPerforms all other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS

Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or Tribal/governmental regulations.Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, percentages, etc.Commitment to routinely go above and beyond in the accomplishment of position responsibilities in an effort to play a role in the achievement of organizational goals.Must present an image of excitement, enthusiasm, and outgoing personality, while being able to project a professional demeanor.Must be able to work in a very fast paced environment while adhering to strict guidelines and controls.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or technical certificate as well as a minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of experience with commercial/industrial trades or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and understand all Seminole Tribe of Florida policies and procedures.Must be able to communicate effectively in English, specific to position duties and responsibilities.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Must possess basic mathematical skills to include ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide specific to position responsibilities.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; climb; stoop or bend at the waist; crawl; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach overhead with hands and arms; talk and hear; and, taste and smell. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.The Casino environment is hectic, fast-paced, and often crowded and noisy. May be exposed to casino related environmental factors including, but not limited to, second hand smoke, excessive noise and constant exposure to general public. Must be able to work in high (heights) and low/precarious (pits or crawl space) places, using ladders or mobile equipment; be near fiberglass insulation; and under sinks or cabinets.Must possess excellent hand/eye coordination as well as close vision.Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required. This is a shift-work position located at a 24/7/365 operation.

 

The Tribal Council gives preference in all of its employment practices to Native Americans. First preference in hiring, training, promoting and in all other aspects of employment is given to members of the Seminole Tribe who meet the job requirements. Second preference is given to members of other federally recognized Native American Tribes who meet the job requirements.
