The Role
Crossix Data Platform is a framework which connects huge patient healthcare data from multiple sources in a privacy safe method on a daily basis to maintain a current view of the US healthcare market. The result enables two core businesses within Veeva: Crossix Analytics which is dedicated to advancing healthcare marketing with analytics, innovative planning, targeting, measurement, and optimization solutions; And Compass, which enables clients to study and analyze deidentified healthcare data for various needs. Both businesses are positioned at the center of big data, innovative technology and provide most life sciences companies with insights to help make strategic business decisions and drive improved patient outcomes. 
As a tech lead, you will take a leading part in designing and building the infrastructure for connecting and analyzing huge, privacy protected datasets in the cloud using Java, Spark and other technologies and mentor team members.What You'll DoDesign and develop platform capabilities for scalable data products tailored to enterprise customersCollaborate with Product Managers, Software Engineers, and DevOps Engineers to gather requirements, create system and feature design documentation, and implement solutions across diverse environmentsWrite Java-based back-end code, leveraging Spark, various cloud services, and relational databasesPartner with the production team to define solutions, monitor services, troubleshoot issues, and identify cost optimization opportunitiesMentor and guide team engineers, providing support in their daily tasks and developmentBuild and use monitoring infrastructure to track services, troubleshoot problems, and optimize performance, throughput, and costsAddress privacy challenges to ensure the protection and confidentiality of consumer and patient dataRequirements. in Computer science or equivalent7+ years of experience with server side Java programming and with big data processing3+ years of experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), including practical experience with platform capabilities (e.g., storage, compute, queuing,g, and orchestration) and in configuring security and networking Proficient in CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Ansible, Terraform, k8s), with the ability to modify and adapt existing resources as requiredSkilled in system architecture and code designStrong analytical and troubleshooting skillsGet things done fast and with high-qualityEager to learn and fast learner with a strong sense of ownershipProficient English skillsNice to HaveExperience with Apache Spark frameworkVeeva’s headquarters is located in the San Francisco Bay Area with offices in more than 15 countries around the world.
