The Agent, Technical Purchasing & Service position is responsible for executing procurement of materials and services needed for operations to support the vessels and maximize guest experience. Works with Technical areas to ensure appropriate goods are secured and any back orders are fulfilled timely and completely. Create and maintain vendor relationships.
Job Functions:
Source items from suppliers by researching and identifying supply options. Negotiate terms and ensure vendors are compliant with our guidelines. Follow the prescribed guidelines and procedures on Technical Purchasing defined in the Purchasing Manual. Issue and revise purchase orders for approved service, repair, and material requisitions created in Infoship by the Ships' management. Liaise between vendors, the technical operations team, and the shipboard teams from purchase request to purchase fulfillment. Maintain proper back up documentation. Provide orders follow up and expediting as needed to ensure arrival of supplies at destination. Coordinate communication for logistics of material or parts for repair/return Develop and maintain regular progress reports on all initiatives. Performs other duties as assigned. Complies with all policies and standards.Qualifications:
Associate’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Marketing, or a related field or equivalant work experience preferred. Technical education or background in technical trading field preferred. 3+ years Business or Technical Purchasing required. 1+ years Technical Purchasing preferred. Skilled with Figma, project management software (preferably Asana), and Google Analytics; proficient in Tableau, BI, Sitecore, and ContentSquare Travel or retail e-commerce experience a plus.Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Communication skills and customer’s-oriented attitude. Ability to work as a team member. Good knowledge of English language. Environmental – USPH requirements. Excellent technical communication skills to be able to properly communicate with ships Chief Engineers, Hotel Directors, Tech. Ops. Knowledge of worldwide vendors for technical marine spares General Marine experience. Sourcing of obsolete spares parts. Ability to read technical data sheets. IMO and DNV standards MSDS regulations and requirements Safety – Quality / ISO standards Excel, Word, Power PointPhysical Demands: Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.
Travel: Less than 25% ship-based travel likely.

This position is classified as “remote.” As a remote role, it allows employees to work full-time from their home. It may also require regular travel to Carnival headquarters in Miami, FL for in-office collaboration. Sourcing of candidates is primarily done in Carnival’s remote hubs of Orlando, Tampa, Atlanta, Houston, and Dallas.
