Department OverviewDocumentation Services produce and manage the distribution of project specific, post-sale, as-built documentation both for and to internal and external customers. The as-built documentation ranges from rack layouts, to wiring diagrams, wiring schedules network diagrams, IP Plans, Factory Acceptance Tests, Site Acceptance Tests and Functional Design Specifications.
Job Description
In this position, the Technical Documentation Specialist will be responsible for:
Creating as built documentation for Motorola Solutions systems
Designing and developing technically complex content into a well-structured, communicative, and reusable output according to standards regarding the order, clarity, conciseness, style, and terminology
Organizing and researching engineering material and specifications to create high-quality, technically accurate and well-written user documentation for a wide area of audiences
Conducting fruitful interviews with project and engineering teams, to gain a thorough understanding of Motorola Solutions products
Ensuring that technical documentation - both in development and already existing - is accurate, complete, meets editorial and government specifications, and adheres to standards for quality, graphics, coverage, format, and style.
Basic Requirements
Experience working in AutoCAD
Experience working in Microstation, but no essential
Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree (preferably in a technical subject/engineering, and/or linguistics)
IT/Telecommunications skills and willingness to acquire highly specific technical knowledge
Excellent English writing and speaking skills (German would be a plus)
Proactiveness, independency, strong organizational skills and ability to deliver under tight deadlines
Advanced communication skills, easiness in establishing contact with other people
