The Work You'll Do:
The Technical Account Manager (TAM) is a key member of the Customer Success team, working closely with clients to ensure a seamless experience across all stages of their journey with Sovos. Acting as the technical lead for new and existing SaaS and On-Premise customer projects, the TAM oversees implementations, testing, go-live processes, and ongoing support. As a trusted advisor, the TAM works alongside cross-functional teams to coordinate efforts and ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet the highest standards of quality and customer satisfaction. This role plays a pivotal part in driving customer success, ensuring clients are not only satisfied but also empowered to maximize the value of Sovos products and services. The TAM also serves as a key escalation point for their assigned accounts, ensuring quick resolution of any issues that arise.
More specifically, you will:
Serve as the primary technical point of contact for key enterprise accounts. Assist customers with installation, configuration, maintenance, and process improvements, while identifying ways to enhance tools, reports, and documentation. Ensure compliance with all corporate policies. Coordinate code deployment processes involving Sovos cross-functional teams (QA, Development, Support, Sales, IT) and clients, ensuring supporting documentation meets client expectations (for both monthly planned and ad hoc deployments). Drive technical projects from inception through Go Live and beyond. Ensure successful adoption and delivery of all applicable Sovos products and services. Conduct annual account review meetings, on-site visits, and coordinate account health reviews. Perform regular case reviews based on assigned account needs. Proactively ensure accounts are prepared for jurisdictional or seasonal requirements. Provide innovative solutions to enhance the software based on customer feedback, demos, training, and new business needs. Deliver training to internal teams and customers on software use and best practices tailored to specific customer business needs. Represent assigned accounts during emergencies and manage customer-specific crisis communications.What We Need From You
2+ years of experience in customer implementations, technical support, or a similar role. Software industry experience preferred; SaaS experience a plus. Familiarity with Sovos products, tax rules, SQL queries, and scripting. Strong planning, organizational, and communication skills (written and verbal). Proven ability to manage client projects while meeting deadlines. Attention to detail and a professional, client-focused approach. Proficient in project management software, CRM systems, and Microsoft Office. Strong business acumen with the ability to simplify technical concepts. Willingness to travel occasionally and work outside core business hours as needed.
