About this unit 

The emergency Center at Beaumont Troy is a fast paced, high acuity Level 2 trauma center.  Seeing over 100,000 patients a year makes it the 3rd busiest in the state.

Scope of work 

Assist the patient care team in stocking and maintaining equipment in the Emergency Room, provide patient care such as obtaining vital signs, applying monitors, transporting EC Service Line patients to and from testing and to the patient care units, and in certain circumstances, to provide companionship and observation to patients in order to limit purposeful or non-purposeful self-inflicted injury.

Qualifications

·       High school diploma or GED equivalent. 

·       Completion of nursing assistant program and/or one year of nursing assistant experience preferred. 

·       AHA BLS Healthcare Provider required

·       Nursing Assistant certification preferred.  

·       Ability to communicate effectively and document information accurately. 

·       Ability to deal efficiently and effectively with a wide variety of individuals. 

·       Knowledge of basic medical terminology preferred. 

·       Basic computer knowledge is preferred. 

·       Ability to move or lift patients and equipment. 

·       Ability to demonstrate Corewell customer service standards and behaviors in all aspects of job performance
