Job Description

Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. is seeking a Technical Application Scientist qPCR (m/f/d) who demonstrates exceptional work behaviors and drive to join our world-class Information Technology team. The preferred typical hours for this role would be 9a - 6p ET at the Grand Island, NY site.

 

Job Responsibilities:
 

Provide technical application support for quantitative polymerase chain reaction (qPCR) instruments and reagents

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to successfully implement new technologies and products

Provide flawless technical guidance and troubleshooting assistance to customers

Accurately record pertinent information from customer contacts in our Customer Relationship Management system and assist in the development of continuous improvement.

Proactively determine customer needs and provide innovative solutions

Keep up-to-date with the latest scientific advancements in qPCR technology

Participate in training on products and continuing education on our new applications and technologies.

 

Job Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in a scientific field, preferably in molecular biology or a related area, is minimally required. An advanced degree is strongly preferred.

2+ years of laboratory experience

Proven experience in qPCR applications and troubleshooting preferred

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Excellent and proficient verbal and written communication abilities in English

Bilingual in either Spanish, French, German, or Italian would be an added plus.

Ambitious and self-motivated with a passion for driving innovation

Ability to collaborate effectively in a team-oriented environment

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range estimated for this position based in New York is $60,000.00–$90,000.00.

This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. We offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package that our U.S. colleagues and their families can count on, which includes:
