It consists of multiple opto-mechanical modules that together shape and manipulate the EUV light to flawlessly print the correct patterns on the silicon wafer, ultimately resulting in the microchip.

Job mission

As a Technical Author, you are responsible for creating and maintaining all technical documentation needed to build and service our modules in the factory and the field, based on the input from industrial engineers in your direct environment. This technical documentation includes work instructions, Problem Cause Solution (PCS) and Deterministic Diagnostic Flow (DDF) diagnostics, Field Change Order (FCO) upgrades, illustrations and processing of user feedback. Your support ensures that the technical documentation is released according to the standards and that its quality and usability are improved.

Job description

This position includes the following responsibilities:

Convert input from engineers and/or development information into effective technical documentation for ASML products according to specifications and established standards.

Create and modify work instructions for factory and service operations.

Create and edit illustrations in line with the required publishing format.

Review the work instructions and illustrations created by industrial engineers and implement the required improvements to ensure that these deliverables comply with the standards.

Monitor the quality and safety KPIs of work instructions and apply the necessary changes to keep these KPIs under control at all times.

Use specialized authoring tools to create and maintain ASML work instructions and illustrations.

Signal problems with technical documentation and propose scenarios for solutions or escalate.

Act as a first point of contact for issues related to technical documentation.

Education

Master’s or bachelor’s degree, preferably in a technical field.

Experience

Demonstrated affinity with writing and/or optimizing technical related documentation.

Experience in writing clear, structured and user-friendly documentation.

Competent in creating professional illustrations to support technical content.

Fluent in oral and written English with excellent attention to detail.

Background in an environment with high-tech products and complex production processes is a plus.

Context of the position

The holder of this position reports to the group manager of the IE Projection group which is part of the D&E Optical Column department in the EUV business line. This department is responsible for the development, integration and industrialization of the entire Optical Column in EUV systems to realize ASML’s challenging product roadmap.

This position requires access to controlled technology, as defined in the United States Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. § 730, et seq.). Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology prior to beginning work. Business demands may require ASML to proceed with candidates who are immediately eligible to access controlled technology.
