Senior (Technical) Business Analyst


Client delivers highly customized, online learning solutions for universities, instructors, and students. The role of this Business Analyst in this environment is to be a liaison to the Product Owners, Delivery Managers and Architects. Business Analysts collaborate with product and scholastic discipline owners in order to obtain a deeper knowledge of the market and customer profiles and, in turn, to discover prospective needs and services in that problem domain. Solution Analysis is driven by research of customers and user needs as well as the competitive industry landscape. This BA role will then work with project teams to develop requirements to address the reusable framework services in ways that help deliver value quickly to the business.

The role of the this specific BA spans the Product lifecycle from the Ideation stage through to Development and Support, with an emphasis on the requirements elaboration in support Development and QA stages. The ideal Business Analyst candidate would have a technical background or degree and be able to adapt their skillsets readily to gain in-depth knowledge of our systems capabilities, assess product priorities and dependencies, model the reusable service requirements through the capture of user stories and UML diagramming, and help in managing the product backlog.

The BA needs to be comfortable with multi-tasking and changing gears because there will be a constant flow of activity spanning Ideation through Development and Support, and depending up business priorities they may need to do spot-support for a day or two on non-primary projects.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:



Experience:

• 3-5 years work experience in Technology focused environments, preferably online consumer markets

• Strong Technical Background or Equivalent degree

• 1 year or prior job working as an analyst or comparable in an Agile Development environment

• Prefer experience in digital education, publishing,or Learning businesses

• Prefer experience interacting with and managing with third parties/vendors • Prefer experience with requirements management tools (e.g. JIRA/Grasshopper, Rally, VersionOne) ** 



- Core functionality to support scoring each individual step on the Step by Steps



- Core functionality to support scoring and grading each question inside interactive Videos



- Core functionality to support multiple attempts per question (with the same algorithmic variation)



- Core functionality to support asking for a new variation on the same item (after the step by step is closed)



- Functionality to batch skip Activities/Items, and mark them as correct.



- Support for multipart questions, score each part individually and reveal the next one (very similar to step by steps) and grade the whole question at the end.



- CAS to implement scoring and grading of graphing components
